Lt Gov Bysiewicz Joins Local Democrats in Rally Ahead of November Elections

Lt Gov Susan Bysiewicz (D) joined New Britain Democrats Tuesday at Five Churches Brewing in an election rally, as the autumn election season gets underway.
Democratic Party Chair Chris Anderson welcomed the assembled activists and dignitaries to build excitement for the most active part of 2024 election year.
State Comptroller Sean Scanlon (D) joined Bysiewicz and local elected officials at the event.
Sen Rick Lopes (D-6) led the slate of local candidates at the event, joined by state Rep Manny Sanchez (D-24) and Rep Bobby Sanchez (D-25) and former Council member, Ald David DeFronzo (D-AL), who is the Democratic nominee for State Representative in the 26th Assembly District.
DeFronzo is the Democratic Party candidate to succeed longtime Rep Peter Tercyak (D-26), who is retiring at the end of his current term.
New Britain’s entire state legislative delegation are Democrats.
The Republican candidates running include former City Council member, Ald Tremell Collins (R-AL) for State Senate, Ald. Alden Russell (R-1) for state representative in the 24th District, Jamie Vaughan for state representative in the 25th District and Board of Education member Barbara Marino (R) for state representative in the 26th Assembly District.
People who have filed unaffiliated candidacies include Alfred Mayo for the 24th District and Stephen Ellis for the 27th District.
