Deputy Consul General Suguru Minoya from Japan to Speak at CCSU Lunar New Year Celebration
Deputy Consul General Suguru Minoya, Consulate General of Japan in Boston, Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to speak at Central Connecticut State University’s celebration of the Lunar New Year.
The event is planned for Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at Alumni Hall.
CCSU says that the celebration is, “featuring three dance performances; cultural presentations from Central faculty and students.”
The University adds,
The new moon on Jan. 29 marked the beginning of the Chinese lunar calendar new year. The year 2025 is the Year of the Snake, according to Chinese astrology. The Snake symbolizes intelligence, mystery, and renewal. The Lunar New Year celebration is sponsored by the Central Asian American, Asian, and Pacific Islander Center and the Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies program.
