Together with Wheeler Clinic and Lucinda’s House the Central Connecticut State University Department of Nursing is planning its annual Community Baby Shower.
At the event, CCSU says,
Nursing students and other volunteers will provide local mothers-to-be with information about local resources for pregnant women, including local doulas, nurses, lactation consultants, mental health resources, dental providers, pediatric providers, the Hospital of Central Connecticut Family Birth Place and other community organizations
The event, to be in the Alumni Hall at the CCSU Student Center, is to be April 5, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
CCSU Nursing notes that,
the United States has one of the highest maternal morbidity rates than other developed countries. In addition, there are significant disparities in maternal health morbidity and mortalities in women of color, in the U.S. and locally.
“The Community Baby Shower aims to address health disparities and celebrate pregnant women in a safe space where they can connect and support each other,” CCSU Nursing says.
“Parking will be available at the Student Center parking lot and Welte garage,” CCSU adds.
