The Friends of New Britain Public Library are hosting an event, “Courageous Women in History: Harriet Tubman,” at the Library.
Event organizers say,
Join us for a reenactment of Harriet Tubman’s speech “I Can’t Die But Once” from the 1896 inaugural meeting of the National Association of Colored Women in Washington D.C. This solo performance is presented by Gwendolyn Quezaire-Presutti, award-winning artist, performer, and living History Performer. A Q&A session will follow the presentation. This presentation has been sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Light refreshments will be served. The presentation will be live streamed via zoom for those unable to attend in person. Registration is encouraged.
The event is Saturday, March 22nd, 1:00 -3:00 pm in the Community Room.
