CCSU Center for Africana Studies Hosting Afro Festival

The CCSU Center for Africana Studies is planning its Afro Festival, saying it, “will highlight art, food, and music in African culture, from the Caribbean to the Americas.”

CCSU says that, “Performances will take place throughout the day, including drumming by Leonard Epps, a dance performance from Nia Arts, and a musical performance by Iddrisu Saaka. Food trucks, vendors, prizes and more will be available all day.”

The festival, which is co-sponsored by the Africana Students Organization, the Black Student Union, and the United Caribbean Club at CCSU, is to be on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

The event is to be at the campus Student Center Circle or, in the event of rain, in Welte Auditorium.

CCSU says that, “Parking will be available in the Student Center parking lot and Welte garage.”
