Justice for Katherine Colon to Hold 2-Year Memorial Remembrance and Demonstration
Justice for Katherine Colon is planning a memorial gathering and demonstration, “will honor Katherine’s memory and renew the community’s call for justice.”
The organization says that, “family, friends, and supporters will gather at 301 West Main Street—the site where Katherine Colon was fatally struck by Officer Connor Reinsch two years ago.”
“Despite the city and state’s lack of accountability and disregard for our loss,” Colon’s family said in a statement, “we will continue to gather and demand justice for Katherine. We all know that if it had been one of us behind the wheel, we’d be in jail right now.”
The organization says that the event will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, starting at 3:00pm at 301 West Main Street, adding, “The memorial will be rebuilt, followed by a public demonstration at 4:00 PM.”
Justice for Katherine Colon said that, “After Katherine’s Birthday Cookout, the family learned that Officer Reinsch had been reinstated to full duty, despite his excessive speed without his lights or sirens on, striking her with his vehicle which ultimately led to her death. The Colon family and community members are outraged by what they see as a complete failure of accountability by both the city and the state.”
