Alderwoman Candyce Scott Promises to continue being a strong Voice for Ward 3

Alderwoman Candyce Scott (D-3), who was on the Board of Assessments and Appeals, is currently running for her second term for Ward 3. She has won multiple endorsements including:4Cs SEIU Local 1973, SEIU local 2001, SEIU 11199 Healthcare, SEIU Connecticut, AFT Connecticut, and Working Family Party.

Alderwoman Scott is proud of her accomplishments on the city Council including a new trash can on Allen St., 15-minute parking signs for Express Pizza, updated stop signs on Clark and Maple Streets, trimmed trees on Maple St., and more. She also made sure the city’s website expanded into Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Arabic. In addition, she championed resolutions that celebrate and honor the city’s diversity, including Ramadan, Black Business Month, Asian Pacific Islander recognition, and Mental Health Awareness.

Alderwoman Scott also has organized community events including back-to-school events, a Black History fashion show at the library, and a neighborhood clean-up day. She volunteered at the Senior Center events and helped feed unhoused families through donations she collected weekly.

“I work hard every single day to make sure Ward 3 is heard and supported. My plans are focused on keeping our neighborhoods safe, clean, and thriving,” says alderwoman Scott. She added that she will continue to address quality-of-life issues like traffic safety, parking, trash, and tree maintenance while also investing in programs that support families, seniors, and small businesses.

Alderwoman concluded, “I plan to keep hosting community events, connecting residents to resources, and giving Ward 3 a strong voice on the Council. Above all, I will continue to be an Alderwoman who is not afraid to fight for you every day.
