VOTE… Iris Sanchez, January 6th, 2026, for the 25th District State House Of Representatives.
As you know, the Allen St. Problem causes the worst flooding in New Britain, along with sanitary back-ups and breaks. On behalf of the flood victims, we will continue our advocacy for full funding and construction of the Allen St. Project. The bid-shovel-ready Cardinal Engineering Plan is complete, per Director Moriarty.
As our City Officials have recited for decades, “The Allen St. Project is critical to resolving chronic issues, including flooding due to storm-sewer failures, sanitary back-ups and breaks due to insufficient capacity and the system’s age. The Allen St. Problem is a definite hazard, and the Allen St. Project is our most pressing need.”
We have learned that US Rep. Hayes, along with Senator Blumenthal, are working to help fund infrastructure projects in Waterbury. The work progresses in Waterbury while financial assistance is secured. We need the same level of effort here in New Britain; all hands on deck are required, including Sanchez, Lopes, DeFronzo, Lamont, Ritter, Reyes, Napoli, Hayes, Blumenthal, and Murphy, to fully fund and construct the Allen St. Project now.
We appreciate that Mayor Sanchez and Director Moriarty are working to finalize the timelines to expedite the bidding process, so that construction on the Allen St. Project will start in 2026. Erin Stewart left from her role after 12 years in office, leaving us $6M short for this nearly $15M project. We insist that the Allen St. Project Construction must proceed as our Elected Officials secure the required $6M shortfall.
Time is of the essence…Our quality of life continues to suffer, our safety continues to be in harm’s way, and 50+ properties and structures are at risk. As Weston-Sampson Engineers have noted, “The Allen St. Project must be a priority because the infrastructure is at crisis levels.”
Vote Iris Sanchez, January 6th, 2026, for the 25th District State House Of Representatives.
Thank you.
