New Britain Public Pools and Splash Pads Open for the 2026 Summer Season

The hot summer months of 2026 are here and New Britain city pools and splash pads are open, providing relief from the heat and summer fun.

The city’s three splash pad summer water recreation locations opened on Memorial Day weekend and are to remain open through Labor Day weekend.

The pools in New Britain’s Willow Brook Park Pool and A.W. Stanley Park Pool opened on June 20, 2026 and are to close on August 15th.

The three city splash pads are located:

  • Willow Street Park, at 43 Willow Street
  • Chesley Park, at 23 Wildwood Street
  • Osgood Park, at 460 Osgood Avenue

The city pools are located at:

  • Willow Brook Park Pool at 80 Mill Street.
  • A.W. Stanley Park Pool at 2161 Stanley Street

The hours for the city pools are to be:

  • Recreation swim, from 1:00pm to 4:45pm. The city says, “Must be 12+ or accompanied by someone 14+.”
  • Evening swim, from 6:15pm to 7:45pm. The city says that swimmers, “Must be 14+ or accompanied by someone 18+.”

In addition the city is offering free Senior Swim times, Saturdays, June 28th to August 2nd, from 10:00 am to 11:30am at A.W. Stanley Pool, as well as a Sensory Swim times, “for children with disabilities and their families,” Saturdays, also June 28th to August 2nd, from 10:00am to 11:30, but at Willow Brook Park Pool.

The splash pads, the city says, 10:00am to 8:00pm, adding there are no admission fees.

The city says that pool pass memberships, which are for New Britain residents only, are $65 per family and $35 per individual. Daily admission for the pools is $5 for adults, aged 18 or older, $3 for children, ages 6 to 17 and free for children under 5 and seniors 65 and older. The city adds, “$7/ 18+ non-resident, $5/ 6-17 non-resident.” More information is available on the Parks and Recreation website.

In addition, Parks and Recreation has its regular pool party programs at both city pools. The parties are Fridays at 6:15pm, and, “Pool admission fees apply.” Parks and Recreation says that, “Pool Parties include a DJ Dance Party and pool inflatables. No outside pool inflatables, coolers, beverages or food allowed.”

The pool parties at Willow Brook Park Pool are to include:

  • Friday, July 3
  • Friday, July 17
  • Friday, July 31

The pool parties at A.W. Stanley Park Pool are to include:

  • Friday, June 26
  • Friday, July 10
  • Friday, July 24
  • Friday, August 7

Two special “Flick & Float” events are planned at the city’s pools. At A.W. Stanley Park Pool on July 10, 2026, the event is to feature “Zootopia 2.” On July 31st, “Live Action Lilo & Stitch” will be featured at Willow Brook Park Pool. Parks and Recreation says the events, “feature: Inflatable Amusements, Carnival Games, and Concessions.”

Gates at the “Flick & Float”, events, Parks and Recreation says, open at 8:00pm, with the movies starting at 9:00pm, Parks and Recreation says, adding that tickets are, “$5/resident, $7/non-resident | preregistration required.”

Parks and Recreation also offers swimming lessons, with information about that available on its website.
