2026 Annual Osgood Shootout Benefit Basketball Tournament Planned

Widely honored Coach Darwin Shaw has announced the 34th Annual Osgood Shootout benefit basketball tournament.

“It still hits me how we’ve been doing this for so long. It always hits me that this thing has been going on as long as it has,” Coach Shaw says. “Last year was perfect. The community and everybody does a great job in coming out.”

The tournament has long been known for spirited competition and for bringing the community together. The tournament raises funds for scholarships.

The event is planned for Saturday, August 8, 2026 and Sunday, August 9th at New Britain High School.

Coach Shaw commented that,

We have two days of live music, which has been great because you get a certain group of people that don’t come and watch basketball, they just hang around the music and the food and they don’t even go into the gym.”

The overall community and everybody does a great job in coming out.

Event organizers say,

For 34 years, Coach Shaw has poured his heart into the Osgood Shootout—creating more than a tournament. He’s built a movement that brings people together, uplifts our city, and opens doors for tomorrow’s leaders.
