CCSU Love Wins Community Drive
There will be a Love Wins Community Drive at Central Connecticut State University, today, December 14, 2018, to accept donations of toys, winter clothing, toiletries and food to benefit families in New Britain and the Greater Hartford area.
The Love Wins Community Drive will be held from 6:00am to 12:00noon. It will be held at CCSU, in front of CCSU on Stanley Street, in front of Davidson Hall.
On its web page for the Community Drive, CCSU says,
As many of you are aware, December 14 is the anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shooting, a tragedy that we all remember. Last year, many of us gathered to send the message of “Love Wins” in support of the Márquez-Greene family and Nelba, who works among us in Davidson Hall as director of The CCSU Ana Grace Project. Her daughter, Ana Grace, was one of the children killed in the shooting.
Event organizers say that, “items we collect will be donated to New Britain Youth & Family Services, New Britain schools (hats and mittens are greatly needed), Maria’s Place food pantry, among other New Britain and Greater Hartford agencies.”
In addition to donating items, event organizers also encourage people to make donations to the CCSU Ana Grace project at its website at www.ccsu.edu/AnaGraceProject.
