Homeless Memorial Day Services Planned
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year and only the beginning of the coldest days that are ahead.
While many people do not look forward to the Winter season, those days are especially cold and dark for people who experience homelessness.
On the Solstice each year, members of the community gather to remember the passing of New Britain residents who have experienced homelessness.
The 2018 Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day will be held at the South Church at 90 Main Street on December 21st. The service will be in the Erwin Chapel.
The services, which begin at 2:00pm, are sponsored by the Friendship Service Center.
The services’ organizers say that, “All are welcome.”
