Summer Pre-School at Hungerford Park
The New Britain Youth Museum at Hungerford Park has announced registration for the summer sessions of its 2019 Pre-School Program.
The Museum says that its Pre-School Program, “Encourages young children to use their senses and creativity to explore the natural world around them.”
“Each session may include live animals, games, crafts, cooking, stories, science experiments, and outdoor exploration,” the Museum adds.
The program is for two to five year old children. The Museum says that, “2 and 3 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.”
The program’s Session 1, “Bugs and Gardening” is on June 4th, 11th and 25th and July 2nd and 9th. “Get your hands dirty in the garden,” says the Museum,” and meet the bugs who call it home.”
Session 2, “Barnyard Fun,” is on July 30th, August 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th and September 3rd. “Spend time in the barnyard, learning about the animals and helping to feed them,” says the Museum.
The program is on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 10:15am.
The Museum says that pre-registration is required. The fee is $48 per session for Museum members and $60 per session for non-members.

On its website, the New Britain Youth Museum has said that the Hungerford Park Nature Center, “offers educational programming, exhibits and special events that relate to environmental education, biological and animal sciences, and STEM.” The Museum adds that the Nature Center, “maintains 27 acres of guided woodland and interpretive gardens that support a variety of native and cultivated plant species.”
