Tanksley to Hold Campaign Kick-Off
Deivone Tanksley Sr., who is a petitioning candidate for mayor, has announced that he will hold his official campaign kick off event this week.
Tanksley, who is also known as “Dmts,” will hold the event on August 29, 2019. It will be at Roma restaurant, which is located at 382 Allen St. The event will be from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Tanksley announced that he was running for mayor in the spring. He is seeking the office as a petitioning candidate, which is a candidate not nominated by a political party.
The Democratic candidate for mayor is Chris Porcher, who is challenging six-year incumbent Republican Mayor Erin Stewart.
“Issues of concern” Tanksley has identified in his platform are education, job creation, taxes, crime and homelessness.
Tanksley is an operating partner at DmtsRadio Live and My Wife Didn’t Cook restaurant, and is a self-published author who also runs the New Britain Legacies Youth Development and Basketball program.
