New Britain’s popular 2020 Little Poland Festival is to be held on July 26th event organizers have announced.
The Festival is to be held between the hours of 10:00am and 7:00pm between Gold and Washington streets on Broad Street, according to a City Council resolution to grant a license for the event.
The annual New Britain Little Poland Festival draws huge crowds to celebrate in the heart of the Broad Street neighborhood known as New Britain’s Little Poland.
Over over 35,000 people from across the state, region and country flocked to New Britain in 2019 to celebrate the vibrant celebration of Polish culture, music and cuisine.
The Festival’s website says that,
With leaping folk dancers, live music, arts and crafts, unique shopping, amazing food, costumed characters, carnival rides and activities for the young and young at heart, the Little Poland Festival is one of the fastest growing family friendly festivals of its kind in Connecticut. And the best part? Admission is only a smile.
Longtime Broad Street leader Adrian Baron noted that the festival is to have a special guest.
“My warmest thanks to actor John Ratzenberger (Cheers, Empire Strikes Back, Toy Story, Cars, every other Pixar Film),” Baron said, “for helping us with the announcement. And of course a history lesson.”
Ratzenberger recorded a video, which Baron posted online. “Hope to see you at the festival John!” he added.
Festival organizers have said that from humble beginnings, “the Little Poland Festival has grown into one of the largest cultural events in the state and one of the largest Polish American festivals in the country.”
The 2020 event will be be ninth time that the Little Poland Festival has been held.
On its website the Festival also says,
The Festival is held right in the heart of New Britain’s historic Little Poland neighborhood where you can find over 100 businesses including NY Times reviewed restaurants, award winning bakeries, world class delis, gift shops, day spas, art galleries, banks, law firms, newspapers and a host of other services.
