Martin Luther King Kids’ Hour by NBMAA and NBPL

The New Britain Museum of American Art and the New Britain Public Library are jointly presenting an online Martin Luther King Celebration “Kids’ Hour Featuring Local Heroes.”

“Join us for stories with Miss Audrey and several community heroes. Museum staff will showcase artwork by local students,” says the Library.

The Museum says that the story time will feature, “special guests Captain Ricardo Mickens from NBFD, Bishop Rha-Sheen and Pastor Briggitte Brown from Right Now Ministries.”

“Museum staff will showcase inspired artwork by local students, and present the MLK Acts of Service Award to outstanding youth in the community,” the Museum adds.

The event is to be Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 6:30pm. Registration for the event is available at a registration web page at the Museum’s website.

“This event is free,” the Library says, “and all event viewers will be entered into a book giveaway.”

The event is one of a number of events that have or are to be held in New Britain to remember Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the civil rights movement. Other events are being held in the city throughout the week.
