New Britain Hurricanes Youth Football & Cheerleading is holding open registration for the 2021 season of its football and cheer programs for kids.
The youth football and cheer program began its early registration in March and has said it will continue until May 30, 2021.
The Jr. Canes say that remaining dates for in-person registration at Chesley Park are from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on:
- Wednesday, April 21st.
- Wednesday, May 5th.
- Wednesday, May 19th.
The Jr Canes say that registration is open for:
- Flag football, Division I, for ages 4 to 5.
- Flag football, Division II, for ages 6 to 7.
- Tiny Cheer, for ages 4 to 7.
- Cheerleading for ages 8 to 12.
- Tackle Football for ages 8 to 13.
The organization says that registration is $130 for football and cheer, $55 for flag football and $40 for Tiny Cheer, adding that, “Price increases $25 as of June 1, 2021.”

New Britain Youth Football & Cheer, Inc., the official name for the Jr Canes organization, says that its, “primary goal is to develop our youth; who through participation in the program; creating a feeder system to New Britain High School that will focus on the student-athlete as a whole and produce successful community contributors.”
The organization adds that,
New Britain Youth Football & Cheer, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed to provide children living in the community the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sports. The program provides selected athletic activities for children ages 5 through 13 in grades K through 8.
