Celebrate New Britain Festival to Be Held Sept 25th and 26th
New Britain Parks and Recreation has announced that there will be a “Celebrate New Britain” festival in downtown New Britain in September of 2021.
The event is to be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 12:00pm to 10:00pm and on Sunday, September 26th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
Event organizers say promote the event as incorporating themes of past city festivals, including Main Street USA, Oktoberfest and the downtown car show.
The event is to have three stages with entertainment.
On Saturday, September 25th, event organizers say that the main stage is to feature:
- “DeCorazon (Salsa Music) 12:00PM – 1:30PM”
- “Timmy Maia Experience (Dance Hits) 2:00PM – 3:30PM”
- “LeMixx (R&B/Soul) 4:00PM – 5:30PM”
- “Larry Stevens Band (Classic Rock) 6:00PM – 7:30PM”
- “Dr. K’s Motown Revue (Classic Soul) 8:00PM – 10:00PM”
Also on Saturday, event organizers say that the kids stage will present:
- “Amazing Andy Magic Show 1:00PM”
- “Music by T-Bone 2:00PM
- “Curious Creatures 3:00PM”
- “Bring the Hoopla 4:00PM”
- “Sammie and Tudie 5:00PM”
On the community stage on Saturday, event organizers say, is to be:
- “NBHS Jazz Ensemble 12:00PM – 12:45PM”
- “Sound Check (R&B/Jazz) 1:00PM – 4:00PM”
- “Jefferson HotSticks 3:30PM – 4:00PM”
- “Family Business (Classic Rock) 4:30PM – 6:00PM”
- “YWCA Dance Team 6:00PM – 6:30PM”
Then, on Sunday, event organizers say, the main stage is to have:
- “Kick (Rock and Roll) 1:00PM – 2:30PM”
- “Mass Conn Fusion (Classic Rock) 3:00PM -4:30PM”
The kids stage Sunday presentation, event organizers say, is to be:
- “Sammy and Tudie 1:00PM”
- “Curious Creatures 2:00PM”
- “Music by T-Bone 3:00PM”
- “Amazing Andy Magic Show 4:00PM”
The community stage, on Sunday, is to present:
- “Jr. Hurricane Cheerleaders 12:00PM”
- “DJ RickFlare 1:00PM – 5:00PM”
Organizers say that the event, held in New Britain’s downtown, is also to include a kids’ zone, food vendors, a beer and wine garden, a car show and a laser light show.
Event parking, organizers say, is available in the city parking garages at 25 Washington Street, 35 Bank Street and 14 Liberty Square.
The city has also scheduled a Sesquicentennial Parade on Friday, September 24th at 6:00pm.
