Community Read-Aloud of “A Christmas Carol” To Be Hosted By Public Library
The New Britain Public Library is hosting a community reading of Charles Dickens’ classic 1843 novella, A Christmas Carol.
“We will read the entire story from start to finish in the library’s community room,” the Library says. the event is to be on December 10, 2022. It is to begin at 1:00pm.
In the event, the Library says, people are invited to, “participate by reading a portion of the book.” The Library says that,
We are asking for those that sign up to commit to being at the library ten minutes prior to the start of their reading slot and to remain for the full thirty minutes that they are signed up (and hopefully for longer). We will assign 3-5 readers per slot and each reader will read for 7-10 minutes as well as listen to others. Family and friends are encouraged to come see you read. Festive attire encouraged, but not required.
The Library says that, “All reading levels are welcomed!” encouraging, “individuals, families, book clubs, and groups.”
The Library says it will post an on-line sign-up, but also says people may sign-up, “calling the library’s Information Desk at 860.224.3155ext 125.”
