New Britain City Council Invites Public to Discussion on Homelessness
The New Britain City Council says that it, “is excited to invite residents, community leaders, business partners and collaborators to a vital discussion aimed at addressing the pressing issue of homelessness within our community.”
The Council’s President Pro Tempore, Ald. Francisco Santiago (D-5), and the Majority Leader, Ald. John McNamara (D-4), issued a public statement on behalf of the Council that, saying that,
This gathering is intended to serve as a platform for open dialogue on city efforts and actions, as well as initiate sustainable solutions and collaborative endeavors to combat homelessness.
On Wednesday, the Council took up a proposal to establish a Committee On Housing And Homelessness to address housing issues in the city.
The Council says that the upcoming, “discussion will take place at a special meeting of the Common Council on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 6:00 pm, in Common Council Chambers, City Hall, 27 West Main Street, New Britain.”
“All members of the public are invited to attend to have their voices heard,” the Council says.
