Dare to Struggle Holds “National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality” Event

The organization, Dare to Struggle held a “National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality” demonstration in New Britain’s Central Park Tuesday.

Dare to Struggle says that it, “is working to rebuild the movement against police brutality and the oppression of Black people on solid foundations.”

The group says that it is pressing for,

No more murders and brutality by the police!
End the criminalization of homelessness and mental illness!
End the criminalization of Black, Latino, and Indigenous youth!
No more militarized police repression of protest!
Send killer cops to prison!

The organization, Dare to Struggle held a "National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality" demonstration in New Britain's Central Park Tuesday.

Dare to Struggle CT said that, in its organizing of Tuesday’s demonstration,

Many people that we met had experienced, or knew someone who had experienced, brutality and harassment by police in CT. Many people also agreed with the importance of everyone coming together in large numbers in order to end this nightmare for so many people.

Some in attendance wore “Justice for Katherine Colon” t-shirts, while posters at the event called for, among others, “Justice for Jashon Byant”, “Justice for Anthony Jose Vega Cruz”, “Justice for Jayson Negron”, “Justice for Alphonso Zaporta”, “Justice for Malik Jones”, “Justice for Steve Barrier” and “Justice for Zoe Dowdell”
