Queen Ann Nzinga Center Hosting Kwanzaa Celebration

The Queen Ann Nzinga Center is hosting a Kwanzaa Celebration with, “live music, performances, vendors and more.”

In a message shared by Ald Candyce Scott, the Center’s Executive Director, Dayna R. Snell, told her that,

I am really looking forward to The Queen Nzinga Center’s Kwanzaa celebration this Saturday. The City of New Britain needs more celebrations in our city that explore different cultures, religions, and race. This is a crucial aspect to helping our community heal and grow. Providing educational exposure to diversity helps to eliminate fear and create love, understanding, and peace. As a result, The Queen Nzinga Center and I will be planning to add to the holiday celebrations in New Britain next year. We will be working on adding Hanukkah and Kwanzaa to the downtown Christmas Celebration. I’m excited that we have a local artist named Enox who will be working with our youth this year on creating the Kwanzaa and Hanukkah display.

The event is Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 4:00pm. Organizers say that, “doors open at 3:30pm. The event will take place at Raymond Hill School, 345 Linwood Street.”
