Rep Dave DeFronzo Takes Office Representing New Britain’s 26th District

State Rep Dave DeFronzo (D-26) was sworn into office for his first term after being elected in last November’s election.

“I am grateful to the voters of New Britain who supported my candidacy,” Rep DeFronzo said, “and I am eager to get started.”

DeFronzo is the successor to former Rep Peter Tercyak (D-26), who retired after serving as a New Britain legislator since 2003.

Returning and new legislators, including DeFronzo, were sworn-in to office for the two year term that began on legislature’s opening day on Wednesday.

DeFronzo, who is a teacher, a former New Britain City Council member and lifelong New Britain resident, said that, “My term in office will begin by listening to voters and by shaping a new style of political dialogue focused on getting things done.”

Rep DeFronzo’s office said that he,

is ready to address infrastructure improvements, the high cost of living and school funding inequities. DeFronzo will keep residents informed through town meetings, social media pages, and email blasts.
