Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church to Celebrate 115th Anniversary, Apr 20th to 22nd
Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church will celebrate its 115th Anniversary in April of 2018. The Anniversary be will celebrated with a pageant, gala and church services from April 20th to April 22nd.
A Church Heritage Pageant will be held on April 20th at 6:30pm. The Friday Pageant will be held at the Church.
On April 21st at 5:30pm, the Spottswood 115th Anniversary Gala will be celebrated. Bishop Darryl B. Starnes, Sr. will be the Guest Speaker at the Gala. Bishop Starnes is the Presiding Prelate of the Mid-West Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Bishop Starnes was formerly the Pastor at Spottswood.
The April 21st Gala will be held at the Farmington Club in Farmington. The Church may be contacted for ticket information.
On April 22nd at 10:00am, Sis. Camille Starnes will be the Guest Preacher at the Sunday Morning Worship Service. Sis. Starnes is the Missionary Supervisor of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church Mid-West Episcopal District.
The Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church is led by the Rev. Jacqueline King.

Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church is named in honor of Bishop Stephen Gill Spottswood (1897-1974), who, in addition to his leadership as Bishop in the A.M.E. Zion Church, was a member of the National Board of directors of the NAACP and a champion for civil rights.
Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church is located at 25 Crestwood Lane, which is off of Country Club Road in New Britain.
