2018 NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner Oct 19th
Tickets are available for the New Britain Branch of the NAACP’s 2018 Freedom Fund Membership Dinner, and program book advertisements and sponsorships are being accepted for the event.
New Britain’s 2018 Freedom Fund Membership Dinner will be held on October 19th.
Social hour for the event begins at 5:30pm and the dinner program begins at 6:30pm. The event will be held at the St. George Hellenic Center at 301 West Main Street.
The theme of the 2018 Freedom Fund event will be “Defeat Hate – Vote.”
The keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. Karen Dubois-Walton. Dubois-Walton is the Executive Director of the New Haven Housing Authority
Twenty five African Americans will be honored at the event. “To encourage Blacks to continue with their work toward social, political, economic, educational advancement and the mobility of Black people,” said New Britain NAACP President Ronald P. Davis, “25 Most Influential Blacks in New Britain will be honored for their work.”
Tickets for the event are $80.00 for adults and $40.00 for college students and children 18 and under. The ticket price also includes annual NAACP membership.

Advertisements may be purchased for the event souvenir program book. Advertisements prices are:
- $200 for advertisements appearing next to event program
- $100 for full page advertisements.
- $50 for half page advertisements.
The NAACP says that camera-ready advertisements, in .jpg or .pdf high-resolution format, should be e-mailed to [email protected]. The deadline for advertisements is October 5th, though event organizers will be able to accept ad purchases until Friday, October 12th.
The NAACP is also seeking sponsorships for the Freedom Fund Dinner that include both seats at the dinner and advertisement. The sponsorships available are:
- Diamond, for $2,500, which includes tickets for a table of eight, and an advertisement on the inside front or back cover of the souvenir booklet.
- Sapphire, for $1,600, includes tickets for a table of six, plus a full-page ad in the souvenir booklet.
- Topaz, for $1,000, which includes tickets for a table of four, plus a full-page ad in the souvenir booklet.
- Pearl, for $750, which includes seating for four, plus a half page ad in the souvenir booklet in black and white.
The NAACP says that sponsors will be honorably mentioned during the event.
The NAACP says that payments for tickets, advertisements and sponsorship should be mailed to the New Britain Branch NAACP, PO Box 323, New Britain, CT 06050. For advertisements, the advertising form should be mailed with payment.
The NAACP also says that it invites people not able to attend the event to join the NAACP by completing a membership form and returning it, with a membership fee, to the same address.
The annual Freedom Fund Membership Dinner supports the mission of the NAACP New Britain Branch to organize in New Britain and empower its residents to win a better, more equal, more just community by working in support of equal access to quality education, decent housing, health care, criminal justice reform, participatory democracy and much more.
