Allen Street Project: Saving Our Neighborhood
Dear Neighbors and Ward Four Residents,
My name is Carol Austad, and my husband, Robert Swarr and I, are long-time residents of New Britain. We care deeply about the well-being of our neighborhood. I am also a member of the Democratic Town Committee (DTC), and my goal is to address concerns and serve everyone in our community — regardless of political affiliation.
We invite you to join us for a neighborhood meeting to discuss a time-sensitive and very important issue affecting all of us who live in Ward 4.
Allen Street Project: Saving our Neighborhood
Date: Saturday, January 4th
Time: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Location: 38 Wellington St., New Britain
The focus of the meeting will be the Allen Street Project. We will also discuss the City of new Britain’s Rapid Response Program. Many of you may already be aware of the flooding issues during heavy rain, which are causing severe sewage and water quality problems. These challenges put our health, safety, and property values at risk. While efforts have been made in the past to address this issue, including discussions with local officials and proposals for mitigation, these solutions have fallen short or stalled. This ongoing and time-sensitive problem now requires immediate and unified citizen action.
The meeting will feature speakers who will share their insights, experiences, and actionable solutions. Together, we can take steps to address this persistent issue and build a stronger, safer, and more connected neighborhood.
We look forward to meeting you, hearing your thoughts, and working with you to create positive changes.
Warm regards,
Carol Austad and Robert Swarr
