Rep DeFronzo Announces Community Forum with New Britain Elected Officials

State Rep Dave DeFronzo (D-26) has announced that he is hosting a community forum with State Sen Rick Lopes (D-6), the City Council Majority Leader, Ald McNamara (D-4), Council Assistant Majority Whip, Ald Luz Ortiz-Luna (D-4) and Board of Education President Diana Reyes (D).

The event is being held ahead of the 2026 State legislative session, which begins on February 4, 2026. “Connecting with the residents of New Britain and holding meaningful conversations about improving our community is a significant part of my work,” said Rep DeFronzo. “Learning about the thoughts and ideas of constituents is very important to being a good advocate for New Britain and our community.”

The Community Forum is to be Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Spottswood African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, located at 25 Crestwood Lane.

DeFronzo’s office says the, “Community Meeting is an opportunity for residents to express their concerns, ask questions, and share ideas leading into the next legislative session.”

“I am looking forward to hosting events throughout the district to encourage meaningful conversations and community participation in our democratic process,” DeFronzo said.
