Inauguration of Mayor-Elect Bobby Sanchez and Swearing-In of Other Newly Elected City Officials

Mayor-Elect Bobby Sanchez (D) is to be inaugurated and begin serving as New Britain’s Mayor on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 12:00pm.

Newly elected city officials will be officially sworn-in at the ceremony, including Mayor-Elect Sanchez, members of the City Council and Board of Education, the City Treasurer and members of Board of Assessment Appeals, as well as city Constables.

The ceremony will be held at the New Britain High School auditorium.

With large majorities of the voters’ support, Sanchez and other Democratic candidates were elected on November 4th.

New Britain Democratic Party Chair Chris Anderson enthusiastically invited people to the celebration, saying, “Mayor-Elect Bobby Sanchez will be the first Puerto Rican Mayor in our city’s history! Our community also elected Democratic super-majorities to the City Council and Board of Education.”
