Music Series at South Church Concert Hosting Candlelight Festival of Lessons & Carols

The Music Series at South Church is hosting its annual Candlelight Festival of Lessons & Carols, which it says, “promises to captivate audiences with its timeless tradition and angelic music.”

The Music Series at South Church says that,

The Candlelight Festival of Lessons and Carols is a unique celebration of the Christmas story, interwoven with beautiful choral music and moving scripture readings, and it has become a beloved holiday tradition in the community. For some, it is the music of the South Church Chancel Choir. For others, the traditional scripture readings. And for many more, it is the feeling of community and quiet ambiance. Whatever is it that moves you, we hope you will join us and celebrate the joy of the season.

The concert is to be on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 4:00pm at the South Church.

“Following the Festival, there will be a reception in Cooper Hall at South Church, featuring light refreshments including sandwiches, cookies, punch, and other holiday treats,” festival organizers say. “A festive Holiday Market with an assortment of gift items for your shopping pleasure will also be available.”

“The Festival is free of charge and open to the public, the Music Series at South Church says, adding, “A free-will offering will be accepted, and all donations in any size are welcome.”
