NBMAA Access for All Community Day Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

The New Britain Museum of American Art is hosting an Access for All Community Day celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The event is Saturday, May 18, 2024.

The day promises performances, food and art-making, with hours of events, including,

– 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Traditional Korean ink painting in Studio A
– 11-11:20 a.m.: Traditional Japanese Lion Dance (Stephen Long and Akiko Hiratsuka)
– 11-11:30 a.m.: Mommy & Me Yoga* (0-3yrs old)
– 11:45 a.m.-12:10 p.m.: Asian Performing Arts CT
– 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: Mommy & Me Yoga* (3-4 yrs old)
– 12:30-12:45 p.m.: A look at Filipino Martial Arts (Pekiti Tirsia Kali)
– 12:30-1:15 p.m.: Mommy & Me Yoga* (5+ yrs old)
– 1:30-2 p.m.: Classical Indian Music (Suhail Yusuf and Henry Hodder)

“You and your family can enjoy Free Admission all day once a month,” the Museum says, “thanks to generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.”
