NBHS Head Coach Roberto Mercado said, “Will is a true leader on and off the field. We’re honored to have had him for four years and are extremely proud of him. We know he’s going to do great things as he moves onto the next level.”

During his 82-game high school career, Homar won four All-Central Connecticut Conference selections and was named to the 2018 All-State team. He will be playing in the senior all-star game this month.

Homar pitched 220 innings, striking out 181 batters and winning twenty games. He earned a 1.75 career ERA.

He also scored fifty-eight runs, stole thirty-eight bases and earned a .320 batting average.

“Attending school in New Britain has helped me so much,” said Homar. He said that, “The New Britain baseball program has helped me learn many new things. If I ever needed anything, I knew that I could go to any one of my coaches because they’d always be willing to help.”

Homar said that Coach Mercado, “told me that I am going to college no matter what. He pushed me to make sure that dream came true.”

Homar will attend SCSU this fall.
