North Oak NRZ Community Clean Up Planned for Oct 6th

The North-Oak Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) has announced a community clean-up day on October 6, 2018.

The community clean-up is being done is collaboration with the New Britain Police Department, Central Connecticut State University, Neighborhood Housing Services, the city of New Britain, local churches and others.

The clean-up is being held in honor two New Britain Police officers, William J. Grabeck and James Skelly, who were killed in the line of duty, Skelly in 1924 and Grabeck in 1951.

Participants are being asked to gather at the Oak Street Police Substation at 99 Oak Street.

Breakfast will be available from 8:30am to 9:00am, allowing people to meet Police Chief James Wardwell, city police officers, City Council members, officers of the NRZ and representatives of other organizations.

The clean up, itself, will occur between 9:00am and 11:30am.
