Halloween “Trunk or Treat” in North-Oak

Community activists in the North-Oak neighborhood are holding a “Trunk or Treat” Halloween celebration for neighborhood kids.

The event will be held on Halloween, October 31, 2018, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

“Join Us… DJ, food, fun, and games,” say event organizers, “Kids can go from trunk to trunk and collect candy and goodies in a safe space.”

Board of Education President Nicole Crawford Rodriguez is organizing sponsors for the event. She says that, at the Halloween celebration, “the kids come around to the cars and get their candy.”

Explaining the role of sponsors, Crawford Rodriguez said, “You just have to sit next to your car and hand out candy. Decorating your car is a bonus.”

Those interested in sponsoring are asked to contact Crawford Rodriguez on Facebook at facebook.com/nicole.c.rodriguez.165.

The “Trunk or Treat” event will be held at St. James Baptist Church at 45 Daly Avenue.

Music will be provided for the Halloween celebration by Spectrum DJ Entertainment.

Event organizers say, “We will have a costume parade, dance contest, and games.”
