TD Bank Donates $10,000 to Rebuilding Together

Rebuilding Together New Britain has announced that it has received a $10,000 donation from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank.

“The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will help support our repair programs,” said Rebuilding Together New Britain (RTNB), “where we provide no cost home repair and maintenance work to New Britain homeowners that do not have the physical and/or financial capabilities to manage them on their own. Annually, RTNB assists has many households as our resources will allow.”

“A staunch commitment to enriching the lives of those across the diverse communities it serves is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy,” RTNB said in announcing the grant. TD Bank Group says that TD Bank, “is one of the 10 largest banks in the U.S.” RTNB says that the TD Foundation, “has distributed more than $200 million and more than 19,500 grants in charitable donations from Maine to Florida.”

Rebuilding Together New Britain, Inc., which is an affiliate of the nationwide Rebuilding Together network, says that it, “exists to improve the homes and lives of our needy New Britain neighbors, specifically seniors, people with disabilities, and families with children, while helping to preserve homeownership, retain affordable homes, and prevent neighborhood blight.”

“Local volunteers perform services at no cost to selected homeowners,” the organization has said, “and projects include health, safety, and cosmetic repairs such as painting or yard work.”

Volunteers organized by Rebuilding Together repaired eleven New Britain homes on National Building Day on April 27th.

In May, Rebuilding Together New Britain announced that it was seeking applicants for its 2019-2020 programs. The organization recently added that, “Applications from New Britain homeowners are accepted year-round and can be obtained by contacting the RTNB office at (860) 832-4389.”
