Top 10 of 2019: #9 – President of Poland Visits New Britain

Many important stories have been covered by the New Britain Progressive in 2019. It may be difficult to name only a few articles as the top stories of the year, but there are a few the New Britain Progressive would like to share as our Top Ten.  Other Top Ten stories can be found at “Top Ten Stories of 2019.”

A visit from a national head of state is always significant, and, for New Britain, the official visit by the President of the Republic of Poland was especially important.

Both President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda visited New Britain in September, and were greeted by federal, state and local dignitaries and a large crowd of both New Britain residents and many others who had gathered for the event in Walnut Hill Park.

New Britain’s own local photo historian Frank Gerratana captured the event in images.
