School System Announces Pre-School Registration

The Consolidated School System of New Britain has announced online pre-school registration for the 2020-2021 school year.

“Preschool slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, which includes enrollment in full-day slots for 4-year-olds,” the school system announced on May 14, 2020. “Placements are awarded upon completion of registration which includes submission of required documents, money order with the first-month tuition, and completed contracts.”

Part-time and full-time preschool options are available, according to the school district, as well as before and after school care.

Both the pre-school options are available at Gaffney Elementary School and Roosevelt Early Learning Center, while the before and after school care is available at Roosevelt Early Learning Center.

The school system says that part-time pre-school, “is available for children who are ages three or four. Students will attend for 2.5 hours per day, either in the morning (9:00 – 11:30 AM) or in the afternoon (12:30 – 3:00 PM).”

Full-time pre-school, the school system says, “is available for children who are four years old. Students will attend from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM each day.”

“Before and After Care for preschool students is provided by the YMCA at Roosevelt Early Learning Center only,” the school district says. “AM preschool students can attend the morning session from 7:00 – 9:00 AM while PM preschool students can attend the afternoon session from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Registration and payments for before and after care are handled by the YMCA.”

The school system provides information on how to register on its Central Registration web page. That web page says that, “Due to the unforeseen nature of COVID-19, our offices have been closed and will continue to be closed until further notice. We are asking families to please continue to register their children for the 2020-2021 school year and upload their documents to the application or via email.”
