The New Britain Public Library has posted hours when the Library is open six days per week, with restrictions due to the pandemic.
“It is our priority to provide library service while taking every precaution keep library users and staff safe and healthy,” the Library says.
The Libary says that is hours are:
- Mondays, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
- Tuesdays, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
- Wednesdays, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
- Thursdays, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
- Fridays, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm.
However, the Library says that it, “will be closed Saturday, September 5 and Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.”
The Library says, “Face masks are required.” It also says that, “Social distancing of at least 6 feet from others is a must,” adding that, “Limits will be enforced on the number of people allowed inside at the same time by 50% building capacity.” The Library also says that, “Patrons should not enter the library if they are experiencing symptoms of Covid.”
“Let’s keep each other safe,” the Library says.
The posting from the library says that C hildren’s Services are available, saying, “3 families at a time, with children kindergarten and older. Unaccompanied children must be 12 or older.” It also notes that with a, “maximum of 4 visitors at a time,” its teen services are available.
The Library’s posting notes that its, “Book stacks are open,” and that its Local History Room is available on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
The posting notes other services as available, including,
- “Magazines are available for checkout.”
- “Public computers with Internet access.”
- “Wi-Fi is available.”
- “Copier”
- “Public fax machine: with credit/debit card.”
- “Scanner: instructions printed next to machine.”
- “The book drop is open for returns”
“Our Jefferson Branch is closed to the public until further notice,” the Library says.
The Library’s posting notes that, “We continue to offer curbside pickup and printing. Call the Main Library (860-224-3155 Checkout Desk ext 110) or the Jefferson Branch 140 Horse Plain Rd. (860-225-4700).”
