Multicultural Business Coalition to Be Formed

Pastor Dana Smith, together with Michele Stewart-Copes and Dr. Marie M. Spivey, both of SEET Consultants, LLC, are announcing an effort to form a new Multicultural Business Coalition in New Britain.

“Within our multi-state Diversity/Equity/Inclusion work, we have experienced a local need for visibility, recognition, partnership and support,” said SEET Consultants, LLC, lead by Stewart-Copes and Spivey. “We need to strengthen grass root community connections to better address trauma, behavioral health, homelessness and poverty.”

The first meeting of the Multicultural Business Coalition is to be held on June 22nd from 8:30am to 9:30am by Zoom.

The effort is to involve the formation of a new business association of businesses in the New Britain Community focused on Communities of Color, especially on small businesses. Organizers hope to build an organization that can help build and empower those businesses and lift up the community from the grassroots.

Organizers say that they, “would like to develop of data base of all names, emails and cell phone numbers for New Britain multicultural businesses.”

“Forming the coalition will strengthen our city and empower voices whose potential has been underutilized and overlooked,” added SEET Consultants, LLC.

Businesses interested in attending the meeting are asked to contact Pastor Smith at [email protected]. Paulette Fox of New Britain OIC will send out the link for the Zoom meeting.

Michele Stewart-Copes, MS, MSW is the CEO of SEET Consultants, LLC, System for Education Equity & Transition.

Dr. Marie M. Spivey, EdD, RN, MPA, is a Principal of SEET Consultants, LLC.
