“We will be honoring the many lives lost to police brutality that has happened after the death of Gorge Floyd,” the Coalition says. “Take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about each other, and our history and celebrate our freedom.”

“Our speakers are amazing,” event organizers say.

The Second Annual Juneteenth Community Cookout is to be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 4:00pm to 8:30pm. The event was originally planned for June 19th, but was rescheduled to June 27th.

The event is planned for Stanley Quarter Park.

The Coalition invites people to, “come out and enjoy some family fun. Music, Food, Vendors and more.”

“Bring your lounge chairs and blankets,” organizers say, adding, “kids eat free.”

The People’s Coalition of Central Connecticut says that it

is a community focused social justice group that provides a platform for learning and discussion about issues that affect communities of color. Our desire is to be an added voice of advocacy on behalf of THE PEOPLE.

Information about the event is available on the People’s Coalition’s event Facebook page.
