Dr. Peggy Lampkin Chosen for State League of Women Voters Board

Dr. Peggy Lampkin of New Britain has been chosen to serve on the State Board of the Connecticut League of Women Voters (LWV).

Dr. Lampkin is a Director at Large on the LWV Board for the 2021-2023 term, representing the New Britain Area, starting July 1, 2021. She has been a member of the New Britain Area LWV since 2012-2013.

Dr. Lampkin joined the local LWV shortly after returning to her hometown of New Britain. Previously, she had resided in the Washington DC/Silver Spring, Maryland area since 1976. While there, she attended and graduated from Howard University. She graduated from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland, receiving a Master of Arts in Medical Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is also Board Certified and Founding Diplomate in Holistic Medicine.

Dedicated to family, Dr. Lampkin had returned to New Britain to care for her elderly parents. Her father passed away three years ago at age 100.

Active in the New Britain community, Dr. Lampkin has served on the Executive Board of the New Britain NAACP as Health Committee Chair. She has served on the Board of the Human Resources Agency, on the Consumer Advisory Council for the State of Connecticut and is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Britain Independent Newspaper, Inc., which publishes the New Britain Progressive.
