Rep. Sanchez Claims 32BJ Union Endorsement

Endorsed Democratic candidate for Mayor, Rep. Bobby Sanchez (D-25), announced that the 32BJ SEIU union has endorsed his candidacy.

“I am proud to announce that our campaign has earned the endorsement from the members of 32BJ SEIU!” Rep. Sanchez on Monday.

The 32BJ union says that,

With 175,000 members in 12 states & the District of Columbia, 32BJ SEIU is the largest property service workers union in the country. We are an affiliate of SEIU, the Service Employees International Union.

“Members of 32BJ SEIU are ready for change at City Hall.” said Rep. Sanchez. “The current mayor continues to underfund essential services in our city, leaving workers in this pandemic without support.”

Rep. Sanchez added, “New Britain needs a mayor who truly understands the needs of our working families.”

“I grew up in Malikowski Circle,” Rep. Sanchez said. “I have lived and worked in our city my whole life. I am ready to bring the necessary change our families need at City Hall.”

Rep. Sanchez is running for the Democratic nomination for Mayor. Democratic Party voters will determine their nominee for Mayor in the September 14, 2021 primary between Rep. Sanchez and activist and Mayoral candidate, Alicia Hernandez Strong. The winner will face Republican Mayor Erin Stewart in the November general election.
