YWCA Holding Online “Evening of Treasures Auction”

The YWCA of New Britain is holding its 2021 “Evening of Treasures Auction” online, with online bidding already open.

“We can’t gather together for this year’s Evening of Treasures Auction,” the community organization says, “so we are bringing the event to YOU with two exciting ways to participate!”

The YWCA is hosting the formal event on Zoom on Friday, November 5, 2021. The event is to begin at 6:00pm.

“This year’s theme is ‘Masquerade’ and it promises not to disappoint!” event organizers say.

“The event is free to attend,” the YWCA says, “but we encourage you to register so that we can send you important event links and updates. You can register up to 10 people at once, so you can invite your friends, family members, and colleagues to join in on the fun!”

But auction bidding started before the event, on November 1st, event organizers say, and is to continue to Friday, November 5th at 8:00pm.

The YWCA has an event website for the Evening of Treasures Auction. The website has a link to sign up for the Zoom event on November 5th and another link for the online bidding auction items.

The event website also includes information on a cash raffle. With tickets for $20, the site says, “1st prize: $3,000”, “2nd prize: $2,000” and “3rd prize: $1,000”, adding, “Only 1,000 tickets to be sold. Drawing to be held at the Evening of Treasures Auction on Friday, November 5, 2021. Winner need not be present to win.”

The New Britain YWCA describes its mission, saying,

At YWCA we demand a world of equity and human decency. We envision a world of opportunity. We commit ourselves to the work of justice. Every day, we get up and do the work.

The YWCA’s main location is at 19 Franklin Square, the YWCA Sexual Assault Crisis Service Satellite Office is at 75 Charter Oak Avenue in Hartford and the YWCA’s New Britain East Side Community Center is located at 600 East Street.
