Neighborhood Housing Announces Donations for Ukrainian Relief
Neighborhood Housing Greater New Britain has announced raising $500 for Maidan United for medical relief in Ukraine.
Chris Sanders, President & CEO of the organization said that, “Neighborhood Housing Greater New Britain is all about the importance of homes to a community. In the current Ukraine conflict, millions have been driven from their homes. Many of those homes have been destroyed.”
“While our focus is New Britain, we felt we needed to do what we could to help Ukraine,” said Sanders.
Sanders said that Neighborhood Housing connected with, “Maidan United through the Little Poland Festival and were impressed with all that they are doing for the people of Ukraine.”
Neighborhood Housing said that it, “raised funds at the Little Poland Festival by providing bottles of cold water and asking for a minimum donation of $1. The full amount collected was donated to Maidan United, who will use the money for medical support and aid in Ukraine.”
Connecticut-based Maidan United says that its, “mission is to provide much-needed medical supplies to the people of Ukraine.”
“We were founded in 2014 when Russia invaded Ukraine,” Maidan United says. “Since 2014, we’ve raised over $500,000 in USD and medical supplies. All donations go toward helping civilians impacted by Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.”
The organization accepts donations via its website at maidanunited.org.
Neighborhood Housing Greater New Britain says that, for 44 years, it, “has helped to create neighborhoods of choice through a comprehensive development strategy that includes: creating first time homeownership opportunities, offering quality affordable rental options, services to educate and guide households toward increased financial stability, and working with residents to improve their community.”
