Vote Row C Democratic Town Committee Candidate Encourages Votes for ‘Dems for Change’

A group of Democrats in February 2024 decided to challenge the leadership of the New Britain Democratic Party in voting wards 1 and 3. This occurred as the current leadership was unwilling to negotiate a more representative membership to open the DTC to a wider base of members. We gathered over 400 petitions resulting in the ability to hold a primary election for DTC members to be chosen by the democrat community. On Tuesday, March 5, 2024 we will be holding that primary, giving our residents the opportunity to choose a wider range of community representatives. Voting will take place in the usual locations as regular elections. The ballot has placed our team in the two Wards: Ward 1 and Ward 3 on Row C.

Our concern is that the current leadership, which has barely changed in nearly 20 years has lost touch with the people they serve, resulting in little real action on important New Britain citizen needs. Our goal is to grow the NBDTC by creating a more representative and inclusive New Britain Democratic Town Committee.

Our team believes in the following:

• Open DTC through involving the democrats of our community with full participation in committees for all members
• Providing a vital and equitable education for our children
• Improving older housing stock and affordability of housing
• Providing greater economic opportunity for our citizens through
  job training, attracting new employers
• Better, affordable health and mental health services
