Hundreds of people protested in front of New Britain City Hall against President Donald Trump and Republican policies on Saturday afternoon as part of nationwide “No Kings” protests.
Mayor Bobby Sanchez (D) and other elected officials spoke at the protest against Trump Republican policies.
For two hours protesters chanted slogans against Trump’s attacks against democracy, against the oligarchy of billionaires and against Trump’s thug tactics, wars and abduction of immigrants.
Motorists repeatedly honked horns and waved in support of the anti-Trump protesters, though at least one passenger held a middle finger at the anti-Trump protesters.
The protest continued for about two hours.
While hundreds protested in front of City Hall in the “No Kings” protest against Trump, about 11 Trump supporters stood on the other side of the street in a counter protest in Central Park.
