A Review by Sean Gallager
Recently, a visit to Frisbieās Dairy Barn on 951 Farmington Avenue In New Britain provided a highly memorable ice cream experience. One thing that stood out was how vibrant and colorful the inside of the shop was, as the inside was decorated with blue and pink paint, setting a proper tone for the experience that I was about to have. Another unique aspect of the shop was the fact that they had a creative approach to naming their ice cream flavors, as many of them were named after different towns in Connecticut. Flavors such as āNewington Nutellaā and Cheshire Cherry Vanillaā helped to create a sense of pride and connection to the community.
The two flavors that I had were Bolton Banana Chip and Plainville Peanut Butter. The Bolton Banana Chip was smooth, creamy and packed with flavor, which went beyond my expectations, leaving me with an unforgettable experience. I was even more impressed by the Plainville Peanut Butter, which had an extremely rich peanut butter taste. Along with serving scoops of ice cream, Frisbieās also serves soft serve, milkshakes, sundaes, ice cream cakes, and even pints and gallons of ice cream, giving customers more than enough variety from which to choose.
Frisbieās also serves as an excellent gathering place for both friends and families. Even though the inside of the shop is small, there are plenty of seats and tables. Along with the inside seating, there are plenty of tables to sit outside, offering customers an enjoyable place to have their ice cream on a warm spring or summer day. The customer service at Frisbie’s was another highlight of the experience. The employees were extremely friendly, welcoming, and eager to help customers find the flavors that they would enjoy the most. If youāre not sure which flavor you want to get, they have small sample spoons, allowing you to try different flavors before making a final decision about what flavor to get. Despite a steady amount of customers coming in to get orders, the employees remained organized and worked as efficiently as they could, serving customers quickly and with a positive attitude.
Although the experience at Frisbieās was excellent for the most part, one drawback was that the interior of the shop appeared to be a bit messy during the visit. However, considering the large amount of customers coming in and the limited number of staff, the issue was understandable and did not have any major impact on the overall experience.
Overall, Frisbieās Dairy Barn offers a unique homemade ice cream experience with friendly customer service and a welcoming community atmosphere. The creativity and diversity in the types of flavors to order, the comfortable seating arrangements, and their dedication to making the customer satisfied makes the shop an amazing place for anyone looking for a sweet treat. Frisbieās provides a very enjoyable experience whether you are stopping by after a meal or catching up with friends or family, making it worth the visit. Based on this visit, Frisbieās deserves a four out of five stars and is most definitely a place you should add to your bucket list.
