Guests can enjoy jazz, gospel and R&B music at the New Britain Museum of American Art as the Museum celebrates its April First Friday event.

Inviting guests to the popular monthly event, the Museum says,

Enjoy the rich sounds of jazz, gospel, and R&B vocalist Theresa Wright covering legends such as Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and more backed by the Distinguished Gentlemen.

The โ€˜Distinguished Gentlemenโ€™ consists of saxophonist Jimmy Biggins, Brad Rickert on keyboard and bass guitarist Steve Clark.

The Museum invites people to, โ€œa little retail therapy for yourself and Mom at the Spring Makerโ€™s Market featuring a special selection of handmade home goods, artisanal snacks, and jewelry of all designs.โ€

First Friday is on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Museum. The Museum says that guided tours of its collection begin at 6:00pm.

Admission to the event is $7 for Museum members and $12 for non-members. Tickets for the event are available online. Drinks are available at the cash bar for $4 to $8.

The Museum notes that, โ€œaccess to โ€˜The Beyond: Georgia Oโ€™Keeffe and Contemporary Artโ€™ exhibition during First Friday requires an additional charge of $3.00 for members or $5.00 for non-members.โ€
