Rebuilding Together April Rebuilding Day Postponed
Rebuilding Together would normally be preparing for its traditional April National Rebuilding Day, but that event has been postponed due to COVID-19.
In March, the organization announced that, “we have decided to postpone our National Rebuilding Day, originally scheduled on April 25, 2020 to an undetermined date in September 2020 due to the Covid 19 outbreak.”
“For the time being, all major rebuild projects are being put on hold,” Rebuilding Together New Britain says on its website. “However, we are still committed to serving neighbors who need emergency repairs. The immediate safety and health of our neighbors is our number one concern.”
Rebuilding Together has been active in New Britain for decades, with many people volunteering to improve the lives of people in need across the city each April.
Rebuilding Together New Britain says that its, “vision is to create safe homes and communities for everyone.”
“Volunteers delivering no-cost services on National Rebuilding Day is our core initiative and our common denominator,” the organization says, “along with the cost-effective leveraging of donated materials, supplies and labor.”
Rebuilding Together New Britain’s website has information about how to donate to the organization’s work.
“As a registered non-profit, Rebuilding Together New Britain relies on the support of the community to carry out our mission of a safe and healthy home for every New Britain homeowner,” the organization says. “All donations are tax deductible.”
