The full City Council has approved approved telephone call-in speaking for members of the public at Council hearings and meetings.
At its February 9, 2022 meeting, the Council approved a resolution that resolution would require,
that the City of New Britain allow for remote participation by members of the public via telephone to ensure equity, safety and inclusivity for members of the public.
The measure was final action on a revised version of the resolution, approved by a bipartisan, unanimous vote in a Council committee.
That committee had changed the original proposal, that would have also allowed for members of the Council to participate in meetings remotely.
