Despite the rain, demonstrators marched in downtown New Britain, calling to, “free Palestine.”
“Free, free Palestine,” protesters chanted.
“What do we want?” protesters asked, responding, “Justice!”.
“By our millions, by our billions,” protesters chanted, “we are all Palestinian.”
CNN has reported that, “Pro-Palestinian demonstrators across the globe took to the streets on Saturday to call for a ceasefire after Israel expanded its ground operation in Gaza.”

The Gaza Health Ministry said the death toll among Palestinians passed 8,000, mostly women and minors, as Israeli tanks and infantry pursued what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a “second stage” in the war ignited by Hamas’ brutal Oct. 7 incursion. The toll is without precedent in decades of Israeli-Palestinian violence. Over 1,400 people have died on the Israeli side, mainly civilians killed during the initial attack, also an unprecedented figure.
Marchers in New Britain began their protest on Arch Street and continued through Central Park in front of City Hall.
